Written for executives and managers, a plain-English explanation of 360 feedback and coaching. You might use it to introduce individuals to 360, and prompt them to try it.
Managing Your 360 Feedback Project
A concise guide to successful 360 project management based on more than a decade of consultancy experience. Including where to start, the three key things to get right, and getting the most from a pilot.
Managers' Q & As
Straightforward, practical answers to most of the questions managers are likely to ask. Use it as a handout, or link to it in e-mails.
Questionnaire Design
An informed and impartial guide to something you really need to get right. There's a step-by-step guide to the decisions you'll need to make, your options, and practical advice and hints.
Here's the 360 Handbook referenced by the CIPD's Factsheet on 360 Feedback. Previously hosted by Simply360, the Handbook has been reviewed, updated, and extended for six years. Hundreds of HR managers have found it very useful.

360 Problem Solver
A diagnostic process which explains common problems with 360 questionnaires, feedback reports and HR applications. For example there is detailed guidance on rating scales, protecting anonymity, and using 360 in appraisal. And, there are practical recommendations based on the academic research, and more than a decade of consultancy experience.

We used hundreds of completed questionnaires and statistical tools to identify the key questions every 360 questionnaire should ask. The key questions might help you identify omissions in a questionnaire; make it clearer, or quicker.

If you have questions about 360 Feedback I can probably help. I've designed and delivered more than 30 major 360 projects in the last 10 years. Projects which used 360 in coaching, leadership programmes, performance reviews, development centres...

Here's a small selection of the organisations I've worked with on 360: Boots, Greene King, ISS, Lastminute.com, Prudential, Red Bee Media, Skandia, Standard Life, Thomas Cook, Virgin Media and Whitbread.

Much of my work today focuses on training and coaching for strategic HR. But I still provide 360 questionnaires online, feedback reports, coaching, and coach training for managers.

Please let me know if you'd like a little advice, or a few ideas, about any of those. my number is 07976 373 562, email

Leadership conversations challenge us, they innovate, they build consensus, they explain, they persuade, they create action... They do many important things. Above all they make organisations responsive, agile and smarter.

In today's tough climate, few things can be as important as honest, constructive leadership conversations. Yet, the conversations that really matter are often the difficult, complicated or personal ones. They are understandably easy to avoid, and easy to get wrong.

Providing managers with the skills, tools and confidence to have the conversations that drive change has to be a priority for challenged organisations. It will be an essential element of many HR strategies.

If you would like to know more, there is an introduction to crucial leadership conversations, feature articles, and development resources at
